Shaclyn was born in Taiwan, raised in Hawaii. A failed surgery changed her life. She battled with knee pain for 10 years; no one knew what was wrong with her. She had seen numerous doctors and traveled around the world to seek treatments so she could avoid surgery. She was in her mid-twenties when a doctor told her she would have to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair. She was devastated; after agreeing to her last resort, she ended up in the ICU with a failed surgery. At that moment, she knew she had a second chance at life and she was going to educate herself and only do things she enjoys. Afterwards, she left her dream job in Los Angeles, moved back home and earned a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. During her time at ICAOM, she saw and treated many patients by using different modalities which she learned from school and by attending different seminars. She has volunteered at IHS, Rehabilitation of the Pacific and helped drug addicts with their recovery. She is passionate in serving and helping the community. In her downtime, she enjoys cooking for loved ones, event planning and eating good food with family and friends.
